Local start up Wroute Inc. announces expansion of Tesla based passenger service.
New offerings to connect Burlington and Hamilton area with Guelph and Waterloo Region.

Kitchener, ON – Intercity travel just got an electric boost, with local sustainable start-up Wroute Inc. announcing extension of their zero emission passenger service, with connections to the Hamilton area and frequent train services along the lakeshore corridor. Today, Wroute detailed service expansions starting January 7th that will see their fleet of Teslas provide service to Waterloo Region International Airport, Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory, University of Guelph, Aldershot GO Station and Burlington’s Mapleview Shopping Centre. The company hopes this effort will begin to address the need for improved passenger transportation service across the western edge of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

Launched in September 2018, the first offering from Wroute was a high frequency, non-stop service between Guelph and Kitchener. “We are growing, and we are continuing to support Ontario’s intercity passenger transportation system by filling in gaps where we’re needed most,” said Jason Hammond, founder and President of Wroute. “We are thrilled to offer new Wroute stations based on the feedback we have received from our passengers,” Hammond added.

Wroute becomes the first ticketed ground transportation option for people accessing Waterloo Region International Airport for travel, work, or study. “A connection to local cities for the airport is something the region has been wanting for a while now. We are pleased to offer student pilots, commercial passengers, and commuters to the aviation business community a sustainable and convenient service,” said Hammond. This is also the first opportunity for visitors to reach the Butterfly Conservatory with a scheduled passenger

New service offerings between Kitchener, Guelph, and Burlington are timed to provide connections to GO, VIA, and AMTRAK train services at Aldershot GO, as well as local bus connections. Prices to travel throughout the network range between $10-$32, depending on the destination, with taxes included and no gratuities accepted. “We want the communities in which we do business to thrive. That is why all of our vehicles produce zero emissions and all of our staff are employed full time with livable salaries and benefits,
Hammond shared.
